Jacob Garland is a Digital Design student born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. Jacob has four years of experience as a content creator in the luxury jewelry, color cosmetics, skincare, and fashion industries producing social media content and digital storytelling in the form of social media images, videos, graphics, animations, among others. In his recent position as an editorial intern at Very Good Light, Jake has written articles ranging from the effects of talc in cosmetics, interviewed celebrity hairstylists such as Josh Liu, brand founders like Matthew Herman from Boy Smells and featured up and coming entertainers like Ariana Grande's backup dancer, Darrion Gallegos. At Very Good Light, Jake designed and created press materials and produced social media content on emerging platforms for major brand launches such as Biden Beauty and Good Light Beauty. In his position as a marketing intern at Foundation Public Relations, Jake developed a social strategy increasing engagement while bringing clarity to the brand’s voice on all channels. While balancing two internships Jake has a part-time job running his own design agency, Covert Creative Media, where he is a content creator and social media photographer. With his plans to graduate this Spring 2021 from the Digital Design program at the University of Colorado Denver with a BFA, Jake is the student organization president of Lynx Creative Collective, a student publication dedicated to uplifting the diverse and creative voices on campus. This organization has been awarded two top-prizes from the university including the Dean’s Student Innovation Award.
